Abstract :
A control system describing rotation of rigid body with an arbitrary number of elastic beams is considered. We characterize the approximate controllability property in terms of the eigenvalues of the associated homogeneous beam equation. It is proved that boundary controllability of the whole infinite dimensional dynamics is possible if there is no response in the system. Under this assumption we construct a feedback law that strongly stabilizes the equilibrium.
