Abstract :
This paper analysis the problem of current sensing accuracy in power switches protection circuits. There are two distinct situations that must be taken into account separately: current detection and current limitation. While the typical sensing topology is similar for these two cases, the biasing conditions are different, leading to significant accuracy differences. Sense current analytical expressions are presented and compared to simulation results.
