Abstract
There is an auditory-motor system in human brain and cerebral motor cortex can be activated by a motion related sound. By training and learning, human brain can establish a relationship between a meaningless sound and a motion. Some EEG studies have demonstrated that a meaningless sound could induce desynchronization of mu rhythm at C3/C4 electrodes. However, the spatial pattern of brain activation is still unclear. In this paper, independent component analysis (ICA) was adopted to study EEG spatial pattern in 14 subjects. The result indicated that cerebral motor cortex and parietal lobe were primarily activated by an auditory stimulus after learning.
