Abstract :
In this paper primary goal was to explain basics of QoS in UMTS and LTE networks and to show how QoS can be mapped through entire network (end to end) that in any case of resource shortage (air interface or transmission interfaces) QoS is applied in same way. Due to that, QoS ratios applied on transmission interfaces correspond to ratios given between users and on Air interface in UMTS network that is not a case. Research was made to explore what QoS ratio must be applied on Air interface to match QoS settings on transmission interfaces.
