Abstract :
Effective machine health monitoring requires a time-frequency representation with high resolution. This paper presents a hybrid signal processing technique, based on Wavelet Packet Transform (WPT) and Wigner-Ville Distribution (WVD). It allows high resolution without introducing the cross-term interference as the original WVD method does. The suitability of applying this method is shown by both simulation and experiments.
