Abstract :
A four arm spiral-helix antenna designed for high-power operation from 500-2500 MHz is demonstrated. High-power test, impedance and radiation pattern measurements are discussed. Presented results show that 200 W continuous wave (CW) operation, with sustained excellent impedance and far-field properties over at least 5:1 bandwidth, is achievable with a spiral antenna. Antenna design is aimed for external platform mounting.
