Abstract
This paper presents an experimental demonstration of wireless power transmission based on retro-reflective beamforming. The wireless charger consists of two antenna elements. It receives “pilot signal” from the device to be charged. The charger processes the pilot signal, and in turn, the processing outcome controls the power transmission. Our measurement results show that, the charger is capable of tracking a mobile device and steering its power beam toward the device.
