Abstract :
A new high-efficiency regulation method for a zero-current and zero-voltage current-fed push-pull converter by using soft switching technique is presented. This paper deals with different way to apply the parallel power-processing technique to the zero current and zero-voltage current-fed push-pull converter is proposed. The method proposed is based on the use of a controlled transformer as a post regulator, which adds or subtracts an additional voltage to the output filter of the converter. This technique implements to the zero current and zero-voltage current-fed push-pull converter, demonstrating than the zero-voltage and zero-current switching is maintained under any operating conditions and improving the efficiency when compared against the SMART converter in the whole input voltage range. Small- signal models of the converter have been developed and a low-power prototype has been simulated and implemented. Circuit description, operation principle, modelling, design and simulation results are presented in this paper.
