Abstract
Renewable electric energy resources have been considered one of the most promising energy alternatives to be used instead of conventional fossil fuels. The paper proposes analysis and comparative study of Hybrid Renewable Electric System, especially Photovoltaic Fuel cell hybrid system and Wind Fuel cell hybrid system with Hybrid Optimization Model for Electric Renewable for Smart Grid Distributed Generation System. The model can analyze all the available small power technologies individually and in hybrid configurations to identify least-cost solutions to energy requirements. HOMER, the micro power optimization model, helps design off-grid and grid-connected systems. Smart grid is the use of sensors, communications, computational ability and control in some form to enhance the overall functionality of the electric power system. The simulation and optimization result gives the best optimized sizing of Fuel cell, Photovoltaic array with Battery for a remote residential load in Coimbatore, India.
