Abstract :
We proposed a planar delta-patch antenna that has a finite size ground plane and a truncated shorted corner to form its shape looks like a planar horn antenna to produce a surface mode radiation pattern in the end-fire directions. The antenna is designed and fabricated at 900 MHz band. The surface mode end-fire radiation of the antenna has been confirmed by experiment data. It shows that the antenna has a bandwidth about 6 MHz for -6 dB return loss.
