Abstract
A new type of the multilayered microstrip antenna with a voltage-controlled ferroelectric thin tape has been investigated. Characteristics radiation pattern and input impedance versus parameters of the ferroelectric layer have been presented. It was shown that this antenna allows for radiation pattern control and frequency shifting. This is obtained by external electric static field biasing coupled with the inherent variation of the ferroelectric material permittivity. The results indicate that this concept has many advantages.
