Abstract :
Target tracking algorithms are often thought of as a conglomeration of a number of unrelated techniques and tricks. However, they all have firm foundations in recursive Bayesian logic. In this paper, we review the Bayesian underpinnings of several target tracking algorithms and highlight the assumptions under which appropriate Bayesian recursions are derived and used.
