Abstract
The application of information technology in the field of cultural heritage content, is now widely diffused, and many different aspects are subject to a deep investigation. Among these this paper in particular analyses the activities carried on over the years at the Image Processing and Communications Laboratory (Laboratorio Comunicazioni ed Immagini - LCI) of the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications of the University of Florence with reference to fine arts images quality improvement and copyright protection. An overview of the European level activities carried out by the Lab is finally given.
