Abstract :
This paper investigates the effect of different amounts of germanium oxide additive on incremental changes of fluorescence intensity of bismuth-doped silica glass (BiSG). The results indicate that the effect is more notable at a low Bi2O3 concentration (0.1 mol%) than a higher concentration of 1.0 mol%. additive. This result indicates that GeO2 additive effectively generates peculiar luminescent centers and increases the potential applications of bismuth-doped silica glass.
