Abstract
New institutional economics is a new economic school which grows rapidly in the twentieth century. CiteSpaceII visualization technique was applied to make co-citation networks in terms of bibliographic data results of papers, retrieved from Web of Science between 1900 and 2009, on new institutional economics. Information visualization was employed to identify the whole scene of new institutional economics through the quantitative analysis of Scientometrics, including subject coverage and core theories. It is shown that economics, environmental studies, planning & development, environmental sciences are the focuses among all the subjects with the high centrality and burst value in resent years. Moreover, transaction costs, property rights and institutional change emerge from the core articles in the document co-citation network.
