Abstract :
Forest fire statistics from 1950 to 2008 indicates a decreasing trend whereas catastrophic forest fire shows a waving curve that fluctuates during this period. It is essential to manage the forest fire risk efficiently since forest is such valuable asset to society and it can bring the benefits of ecosystem. As a result, managing the risk of forest fire starts with identification of the hazards from six regions of China. The next step is to find the factors of forest fire and to evaluate the risk based on the probabilistic model. The final step is to finance the risk through setting up an insurance preventive measure.
