Abstract
How to construct an image source system for an arbitrarily shaped body is considered and its use in calculating the flow around a ship hull is demonstrated with the example of calculated wave pattern. Only the source strengths on the free surface, excluding the hull surface sources, play the role of unknowns by the use of this concept. The full nonlinear free surface boundary conditions are satisfied.
