Abstract :
Uniplanar building blocks are studied for the broadband design of monolithic and hybrid millimeter-wave integrated circuits. A class of improved and miniaturized double-Y baluns are developed and designed on the platform of both finite-and infinite-uniplanar ground planes, which exhibit low-loss multi-octave bandwidth and flat frequency response. On the basis of the cancellation principle of convergent anti-symmetrical electrical fields of an innovative CPW open-end, newly designed RF chocks are experimentally demonstrated to have a lower loss. In addition, our improved DC-block filter also shows a wider bandwidth as compared with its well-known counterparts.
