Abstract
In the article, the author considers the problems of the influence of material technological (noninstitutional) environment on the efficiency of economic institutions. With the help of modeling, he shows that in the dependence on a material-technological basis, there are economies of two types: productive and unproductive. The attempts of establishing of the market institutions in unproductive economies lead to their destruction. He examines the productivity of Russian economy in these terms.
