Abstract :
A new microwave potential-free connection and a compact microstrip to slotline transition are proposed and analysed in this paper. The proposed potential-free connection consists of tightly coupled slotlines which lie one upon another. As this circuit applies only transmission lines, no frequency limit exists. The bandwidth of the suggested microstrip to slotline transistion is enhanced by using half-wavelength transformers in series shunted by open stubs with the same length. A relatively good comparison is made with experimental results which further verify the concept.
