  • Abstract
    By applying a newly developed metal evaporated (ME) tape, choosing the best combination of M-sequence and synch block, and using a Viterbi decoder and a small diameter high-speed drum with one-piece head, we have achieved an areal density of 1.35μm2/bit (479Mbpi2).
