Abstract :
This novel antenna presented consists of top substrate with a quasi-square patch, middle air gap and bottom substrate with rectangular-helix-slotted ground and open-circuit microstrip feed line(50 Omega). It covers 7.9 GHZ-9.85 GHZ(VSWRles2, 20.3%). Gain ges3 dB when the ground is large enough. -3 dB beam-width is no less than 25deg both in E-plane and H-plane. The antenna also has simplicity, compactness, small size, light weight and low profile. So it´s suitable for satellite communication, radio positioning and navigating of micro air vehicle in X-band.
