Abstract
The impedance matching between the tag antenna and the IC chip is a crucial problem attracting increasing attentions recently. This paper firstly presents a study on impedance calculation of a metal strip dipole using finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method with unsplit perfectly matched layer (UPML) absorbing boundary condition. On this basis, the impedance characteristic of the fragment-type tag antenna is analyzed. More accurate results are obtained. Comparisons with the commercial software results show the accuracy and validity of the method.
