Abstract
Scheduling the nodes of wireless sensor network properly can effectively reduce the networks´ energy consumption. The ordinary coverage algorithm is simply to identify redundant network nodes and let them go to sleep, without considering problem of power consumption of those continuing working nodes. This paper purpose a sleeping and wakening-up mechanism based on energy threshold setting, which can improve the nodes working efficiency by limit their energy consumption, balancing energy consumption of nodes, thus enhances the entire wireless sensor networks´ life. The simulation results show that the sleep/wake-up mechanism based on energy threshold setting can be applied to wireless sensor networks very well with obvious energy-saving.
