Abstract :
The decentralized control system is a large scale system where the plant is controlled by a set of several controllers which do not have direct communications with each other. This paper is concerned with the decentralized control system synthesis from the behavioral viewpoint. A prescribed behavior is said to be implementable if there exists a controller for which the the behavior of the interconnected system coincides with the prescribed one. We extend the implementability conditions for a centralized control system to the decentralized case. More specifically, it is shown that the implementability of a prescribed behavior via decentralized control is equivalent to the existence of a finite sequence of behaviors which satisfy certain implementability conditions.
