Abstract
The increasing harmonic pollution appearing in distribution networks due to light rail transit implementation is presented in this paper. A complete analysis is done by using the proposed harmonic power flow analysis program that is able to treat multiple harmonic sources simultaneously, including measurement results and/or theoretical values. The program is based on the direct solution of the admittance matrix. A manual analysis is first developed as a guide before conducting the computation by computer, and as a guide to determining the component modeling-especially the transformer´s model. Filter installation looks to be the unique solution in reducing the harmonic level even though it will be costly to the system
