Abstract :
Detection performance is analyzed for pilot-aided base station acquisition in OFDM based cellular networks. With non-coherent decision statistics, we find the slope of the pilot pattern, which is evenly spaced in the frequency domain and hops from OFDM symbol to OFDM symbol. A pilot symbol location is defined as a set of Latin square sequences with different (evenly spaced) offset values. We examine the probability of correct detection with various parameter sets, such as pilot-to-signal power ratio, frequency offset and observation window size.
