Abstract
This work reports on the generation, compression and temporal characterization of isolated attosecond pulses down to the single cycle regime. The frequency resolved optical gating for complete reconstruction of attosecond burst (FROG-CRAB) technique has been used to fully characterize the temporal envelope and phase of the attosecond pulse. We have generated XUV broadband continua by high-order harmonic generation (HHG), focusing phase-stabilized few-optical-cycle driving pulses with a time dependent ellipticity in an argon cell with a static pressure.
