Abstract :
A novel dominant mode waveguide bandpass filter with attenuation pole is proposed to obtain improved attenuation performance. An extra-shorted cavity resonator achieves the attenuation pole. The shored cavity is combined to ordinary waveguide bandpass filter by means of H-or E-plane T-junction. The attenuation pole can be placed lower or upper stopband. Experimental results are given to show the improved stopband characteristics.
