Abstract
For poor quality of playback and low scalability in Video-on-Demand (VoD) system, it proposes combination of Content Distribution Network (CDN) and Peer-to-Peer (P2P) technologies applied in traditional C/S architecture. CDN server provides video initial data for user´s fast playback and complementary streaming, P2P networks provides normally required video data downloaded in advance, the directory server executes user´s access control, further ensuring system performance. Simulation results show that: combination of CDN and P2P technologies in VoD system compares to other VoD system based on traditional C/S architecture, ensuring the existing user´s quality of playback and accommodating more users, so scalability has been improved.
