Abstract :
We propose a new transformation-optics framework based on nonlocal coordinate transformations in the spectral (wavenumber) domain. Our approach allows a physically-incisive and powerful geometrical interpretation in terms of deformation of the equi-frequency contours, and sets the stage for new intriguing developments in dispersion engineering of electromagnetic metamaterials.
