Abstract :
An apparatus for detecting advanced glycation Endproducts (AGE) fluorescence spectrum of skin has been designed. Some of the AGE have special fluorescence. When the tissue of skin is illuminated with excitation light, fluorescence emmited by tissue is detected. The intensity of detected fluorescence is related with the concentration of tissue AGE, which can determine a tissue state of individual. The apparatus can scan exciation light, and also can scan fluorescence emitted by tissue. Because the detection is perfomed noninvasively, so the apparatus could be adapted for use conveniently. we make use of the system to detect the excitation spectrum. At the same time, the emission spectrum is also be detected on the skin of nondiabetic individual and diabetes respectively, the result of the experiment indicates that there are difference distinctly about 450 nm between them. The patient can benefit from it to forecast and diagnose the state of illness such as diabetes, decrepitude, oxidative stress. etc conveniently.
