Abstract :
This paper presents a novel Ka-band planar omnidirectional microstrip antenna array, allowing direct integration with millimeter-wave modules such as power amplifier MMIC. The antenna array consists of seven leaky lines and each line radiates a pair of forward and backward leaky waves, thus forming a cone-shaped radiation pattern and showing negligible effects of the antenna interface circuits on radiation pattern. The radial antenna array prototype is built and tested at 30.2GHz, showing 3-dB beamwidth of 22° at the elevated angle of 48°, suitable for indoor Wireless LAN application
