Abstract :
A 2R scheme based on Mamyshev´s approach for processing of WDM channels is reported and the possibility of simultaneous regeneration of two channels within the same highly nonlinear fibre (HNLF) is demonstrated by investigating the penalties induced by inter-channel crosstalk. The transfer functions of the regenerator is measured to investigate the performance degradation induced by the counter-propagating signal.
