Abstract :
Picosecond flat-top waveform generation using long-period fiber grating (LPG) device is discussed. Flat-top pulses generated using uniform LPGs can be tuned to achieve an optimum flat-top shape for different levels of the total dispersion experienced by the generated flat-top pulse. The tuning is made by properly adjusting (i) the LPG´s coupling strength and (ii) the pulse carrier frequency-LPG resonance frequency detuning.
