Abstract
The first suite of Power PC processors such as the PowerPC 601 and PowerPC 603 are making their way into both desktop and special purpose hardware applications. Additional PowerPC processors are being developed including processors designed for the high-end server and workstation market as well as those which function efficiently in real-time embedded control applications. In this paper, the PowerPC visual simulator (PVS) is introduced. Following this, several PowerPC application scenarios are described. Each of these scenarios focuses on a common software analysis or testing problem. PowerPC solutions to these problems are explored using the PVS tool
