Abstract :
With the development of economy and society, there will be more and more planned special events held in every cities, which will directly bring severe challenge to the system of city traffic. Planned special events will bring about multitudinous people and vehicles at small area in a short time, especially under the condition that parking lot supply can not meet the demand. Superfluous cars can be blamed for the traffic jam. Therefore, in this paper, we gave a detailed analysis on attendee´s travel characteristics and attendee´s travel mode, and established the multi-nomial logit (MNL) model model to forecast the demand of parking lots in the case of planned special events, which can provide the help for the transportation planning strategies and transportation demand management to transportation authorities.
