Abstract :
In this paper, we determine the channel capacity of 60 GHz wireless communications over additive white Gaussian noise channels. The channel capacity with phase shift keying (PSK) is investigated under FCC power constraints for the unlicensed 59- 64 GHz radio spectrum. It is shown that the capacity of 60 GHz wireless communications is a function of distance and signal to noise (SNR) ratio, which demonstrates a fundamental trade-off for system design. The 60 GHz system capacity is also compared to the capacity of ultra wideband radio system.
