Abstract
An electrically small Huygens source realized as two concentric spherical sheet impedances is investigated. Closed-form expressions for the electric and magnetic polarizabilities, the directivity (D), and the fractional scattering bandwidth (FBW) are found. An impedance matched, electrically small antenna (ESA), of the same topology, is presented with a directivity of 7.6 dB. The antenna is simply fed with a coaxial cable.
