Abstract :
An RF quadrupole magnet (RFQM), which can produce a split in betatron tunes between individual bunches, was developed and effects on transverse coupled-bunch instabilities were investigated. The threshold currents in both the TM111(H) instability and the vertical instability were raised by the use of the RFQM.<>
