Abstract :
In this contribution, we present a novel concept to compensate the influence of the Doppler shift for a precise local position measurement system for moving objects. Based on the Doppler influenced position data, the approximate velocity of an object, equipped with an active transponder based on FMCW-technology, is estimated by a Kalman filter. The velocity estimation is used to compensate the Doppler shift in measurement data. This method is more accurate than methods based on direct Doppler shift measurements.
