Abstract :
A development environment for turbogenerator control based upon MATLAB and SIMULINK has been described. Its use has been illustrated by producing a self tuning GPC automatic voltage regulator similar to that described previously. After a brief review of background theory the GPC controller has been cast in a standard digital controller form. This form allows a simple and quick way of exploring the effect of the variations in the many tuning parameters of the GPC algorithm. It represents a significant step forward in the practical confidence and hence acceptability of such controllers.
