  • Abstract
    We present a complex arithmetic structure generator ASOP (arithmetic sum-of-products), one of the features of Autologic Blocks. This structure generator is capable of producing multipliers, multioperand adders, filters, and other complex arithmetic structures useful for signal processing applications. The approach presented for recoding the operands in an arithmetic expression is very different from conventional methods. The recoding algorithms takes into account the representation (signed/unsigned) and the type (constant/signal) of the operands in arithmetic expressions. We use some fine tuning techniques to enhance the performance of structures
