Abstract :
Transmission characteristics of the first higher mode in a strip line were investigated for millimeter-wave integrated circuits. The design diagram of this mode was determined, and a higher mode strip line was fabricated at 30 GHz. The dispersion curve was found to be similar to that of a rectangular waveguide, and moreover, low transmission loss of less than 10 dB/m was observed.
