Abstract
The geospatial coordinate system is usually described by Well-Known Text (WKT) defined by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). However, Oracle Spatial has different mechanism to represent geospatial coordinate system by tables and relationship between these tables. There is a problem that adding a coordinate into Oracle Spatial is complicated. This paper proposed a way to map the coordinate system in WKT format into Oracle Spatial by parsing WKT into objects by object-oriented method. Using objects as an intermediate layer and mapping these objects into Oracle Spatial, added user-defined coordinate system into Oracle Spatial. The result of experiment shows that this method is fast, efficient, and reusable.
