Abstract :
This paper presents a planar near-field plate fabricated from a printed circuit board. It consists of concentric annular slots over a grounded dielectric substrate, loaded with lumped element impedances. A design procedure is outlined and full-wave simulation results are reported which confirm the subwavelength focusing capability of the plate. Such a device may find application in high resolution near-field imaging and probing, medical targeting devices, and wireless power transfer devices.
