Abstract :
This paper presents simulations and experiments on applying fuzzy logic to position control and signal location. The system studied is a satellite antenna using fuzzy control in the servo mode to control positioning and an additional maximum signal strength location algorithm, based on fuzzy logic, which updates the target set point using the measured signal. In presenting the signal location algorithm extensive simulation results are discussed but the point to be stressed is the strong performance of fuzzy logic in controlling the satellite antenna over a range of experimental tests
