Abstract
This paper discusses a DSP (digital signal processor) implementation of a WCDMA (wideband code division multiple access) reverse link based on the TMS320C6201 fixed-point processor. The reverse link implementation does not include the analog channel modulation and demodulation blocks, but only the source encoding of the data and the spreading. The results of the real-time implementation are presented, along with the software optimization techniques employed.
