Abstract :
The main bank system in Japan has undergone remarkable reformation since the 1980th. Through analysing its reform realisation, functional range and performance, it has been derived that the main bank system neither comes to its termination nor does it simply evolve into the ´creditor ex post monitoring´ mode like that in the Western countries, but follow an integrated way to transition. The main bank system and the creditor governance mode coexist in one economy and form a complementary binary structure, which will definitely function for a long term.
