Abstract :
Linear polarized antenna array has been developed for short range automotive radars. The antenna achieved low side lobe level small size and wide bandwidth. Material of the antenna is ceramics, which can readily unify the antenna with packages for ICs. Unifying antenna can reduce radar cost significantly because it can decrease component count and manufacturing process and introduce stable characteristics. The paper presents two kinds of antennas appropriate for short range radar. One has gain of 15.6 dBi and side lobe level of -28.1 dB and the other has gain of 17.9 dBi and side lobe level of -26.3 dB at 76.5 GHz.
